In this letter (Rome, 8 December 1980), Fr Arrupe invites the provincials of Latin America to reflect on Marxist analysis, to be distinguished from the philosophy or ideology which underlies it as also from the practice that it engenders: can it be used by a Christian, and by a Jesuit?
